2. User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate account, listing, delivery, and payout information.
- Do not sell illegal, counterfeit, stolen, unsafe, or restricted items.
- Negotiate in good faith and honour accepted deals.
- Keep communication on Trato so escrow, delivery PINs, reviews, and support can protect the deal.
- Comply with applicable Nigerian laws and marketplace safety rules.
3. Prohibited Items
You may not list or request:
- Drugs, controlled substances, or related paraphernalia.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or regulated security equipment.
- Counterfeit, pirated, stolen, or fraudulently obtained goods.
- Fake documents, IDs, credentials, or financial instruments.
- Wildlife, protected animals, or prohibited animal products.
- Illegal, exploitative, or unsafe services.
4. Escrow, Payments, and Delivery
Trato uses escrow to reduce fraud and make handover safer.
- Payment: The buyer pays through a Paystack-powered link.
- Escrow: Trato holds the money until delivery or dispute resolution.
- Delivery: The seller ships directly or uses a Trato rider where available.
- Confirmation: The buyer confirms delivery, including any delivery PIN flow when used.
- Payout: Trato releases the net amount to the seller and rider after fees, holds, and dispute checks.
5. Disputes
A dispute may be opened for non-delivery, damaged goods, item mismatch, rider failure, suspected fraud, or safety concerns.
Trato may review messages, listing details, delivery records, payment events, photos, and user history. Trato may refund, release, split, or hold funds based on the available evidence.
6. Fees
- Listing is free unless a paid boost or Pro feature is selected.
- Trato may deduct marketplace commission, delivery charges, payment processing fees, and approved promotional fees from completed deals.
- Fees are shown before paid actions whenever practical.
7. Liability
Trato is an intermediary. We provide marketplace, escrow, matching, support, and safety tooling, but we do not manufacture, own, or personally inspect every listed item. Our liability is limited to the fees Trato receives for the relevant transaction, unless Nigerian law requires otherwise.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be handled by the appropriate courts or dispute-resolution forums in Lagos, Nigeria, unless applicable law requires another venue.
